Permanent Drug Drop-Off Boxes

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has installed permanent drug drop-off boxes at it's four patrol district offices.  Citizens are now able to properly dispose of unwanted, unnecessary and expired prescriptions, over the counter medicines and veterinarian prescriptions.  The drop off boxes are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The new permanent take back sites will provide multiple options for residents of Hillsborough County to safely dispose of unwanted/unused medications, increase awareness of prescription drug abuse and help keep potentially dangerous drugs out of the wrong hands.

The Boxes Are Located At The Following Sites:
  1. District 1:  14102 North 20th Street, Tampa
  2. District 2:  2310 North Falkenburg Road, Tampa 
  3. District 3:  7202 Gunn Highway, Tampa
  4. District 4:  503 33rd Street SE, Ruskin
Acceptable Items:
  • Pill bottles
  • Boxes and/or packaged drug items
  • Patches
  • Powders
  • Liquids (properly sealed)
  • Inhalers
  • Veterinarian prescription drugs
Items Not Acceptable:
  • Syringes
  • EpiPens
  • Biohazards
  • Medical equipment
  • And drug item from a narcotic or death investigation
  • Any illegal street drugs
